Torrins Music School

As Plato famously stated, "Music is a moral law. It gives the cosmos personality, the mind wings, the imagination flight, and the beauty and gaiety of existence." Research has shown that students' success in life is closely related not just to academic excellence but also to their whole development. This includes developing a well-rounded personality with an appreciation for arts, crafts, sports, and music. At Jaipuria School Roorkee, we provide a Music Curriculum designed by international instructors, classes conducted as well as Music Learning implementation as per NEP 2020 per Bloom's Taxonomy under the guidance of Torrins School and Mr Ehsaan Noorani from the Shankar-Ehsan-Loy group.

Sanskrit from Pre-Primary

Teaching Sanskrit from the pre-primary level enhances cognitive development, linguistic skills, and cultural appreciation. It improves memory, attention, and logical thinking while fostering a strong linguistic foundation. Sanskrit's rich vocabulary and precise grammar aid in language acquisition and phonetic awareness. Learning Sanskrit instills an appreciation for Indian culture, literature, and philosophy. It boosts academic performance, especially in subjects like mathematics and science, and cultivates concentration through chanting and recitation. Additionally, it contributes to holistic development, integrating spirituality, ethics, and values. Proficiency in Sanskrit opens up unique career opportunities in academia, literature, philosophy, linguistics, and religious studies.

Benchmark Assessment

We are introducing the Benchmark Assessment for students in Grades 3, 5, and 8 in accordance with New Education Policy 2020, which suggests that for the benefit of students, parents, teachers, principals, and the entire schooling system in planning improvement to schools and teaching-learning processes. In Grades 3, 5, and 8, all students will take exams that measure their mastery of fundamental learning objectives by evaluating their grasp of key ideas, their application of pertinent higher-order thinking skills, and their ability to apply their knowledge in practical settings rather than just by memorizing. The effectiveness of assessment in the primary grades is crucial in tracking the system's progress toward this objective and in advising all parties involved in raising learning standards. It serves as a diagnostic tool that gives educators and schools constructive criticism to enhance instruction without putting undue pressure on kids to perform well on tests. It is intended to support educators, parents, and students in monitoring their academic progress throughout the course of the semester.

JOSH

Jaipuria Open Scholarship Hunt (JOSH) is an yearly event and it’s a regional level talent hunt examination for students from class 1st to 12th, with scholarship and waivers for the regional toppers. The scholarship will be in the form of fee waiver in the current admission cycle of the school for Academic session 2023-24. It is a merit-based financial award granted to students to support their education expenses. Scholarships can be based on academic excellence, athletic achievements, artistic talents, community involvement, or other criteria.

Building as a Tool for Learning (BALA)

Using building activities as learning aids in classrooms promotes cognitive growth and multidimensional knowledge. Hands-on construction projects allow students to apply concepts from a variety of topics, including mathematics, physics, and engineering. Building encourages problem-solving abilities, spatial thinking, and creativity while catering to a variety of learning styles. Collaborative construction jobs also foster collaboration and communication skills, which are necessary for future endeavors. Furthermore, building models or prototypes reinforces abstract concepts, making learning more concrete and memorable. Overall, incorporating building exercises into the curriculum improves educational experiences, allows students to explore, and provides them with necessary skills for lifelong learning.

IDPInter Disciplinary Enrichment Activity

The world has changed, and the pandemic has accentuated the need for life skills more than every before. At Jaipuria, flipped learning, student-led classrooms, collaborative learning through team projects, case studies and inter-disciplinary projects has always been the cornerstone of educational focus. We offer innovative and integrated approach to learning. For instance, we offer learning through Interdisciplinary Projects, (IDP), integrating ideas, perspectives, hypothesis, opinions and guiding principles from multiple disciplines to systematically form a more complete framework of assay offering a higher learning and understanding of the given topic. Imagine, an opportunity for a student to embark on learning mathematics and chemistry through the exciting texts of Harry Potter whilst collaborating with their peers! Jaipuria Schools will in the future collaborate with schools globally to enrich these projects further.

This unique method synthesises learning from different disciplines to take children deeper into one chosen theme or concept. It allows for children to learn a more inclusive perspective at their own pace.

Whilst this is in line with the focus of the curriculum framework and the recent NEP 2020, all assessments are done for 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication , information literacy, technology literacy and others.

This also brings in learning beyond content, including FLEXIBILITY, MEDIA LITERACY, LEADERSHIP, INITIATIVE, PRODUCTIVITY, SOCIAL SKILLS. There is attempt to get going on bagless-days and structured mentorship at schools.

*Jaipuria designs the learning experience keeping my needs in mind. That is why learning and growing is so much fun here!*
